Help save and transform lives by running a marathon or half-marathon, climbing a mountain, trekking or attempting another daring challenge.
What’s more, Women and Children First will support you all the way with your fundraising and training.
Change the lives of women, children and young people by attempting a daring, exciting or adrenaline pumping challenge
Not only will collecting sponsorship and fundraising help some of the world’s poorest communities, you will also have lots of fun both building up to – and attempting your challenge.
What’s more, the team at Women and Children First will help you every step of the way. Our expert fundraising and training advice will help you succeed and smash your targets. All our fundraisers get a commemorative cotton t-shirt.
You can either try a challenge on your own or in a team – giving you moral support both in training and your fundraising efforts!

Run, sprint, jog or walk
Whether you are trying your first 5k, half marathon or even full marathon, Women and Children First will be there to encourage you. Our team can find the right race for you.
Limited spaces are available at the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 13th October. Contact us to find out more information.
Swim or cycle
Alternatively, try a frenetic, fast-paced, action-packed challenge in water or on wheels.
Mikey Rosato, Women and Children First CEO, swam and trekked around the Scilly Isles near Cornwall. Find out why he took on the inspirational challenge – and raised £2,500.
Women and Children First can identify swimming or cycling challenges right for you. Contact us for more information.
Abseil or skydive
For something both exciting and terrifying, attempt an abseiling or skydiving challenge. People will be supportive and encouraging of something different, particularly if they are afraid of heights or think “I wouldn’t do that…”.
Mark Mina, Women and Children First Fundraising Manager, abseiled down the Orbit with his 15-year-old daughter, raising over £1,000. He says: “It’s a big challenge. It’s a frankly dizzying 262 feet high and it takes 90 minutes to descend. Friends, family and colleagues have all been very generous in sponsoring us!”
Hike or trek - in the UK or abroad
Take on the challenge of a lifetime. Climb iconic mountain ranges with breath-taking views and spectacular scenery, in the UK or in countries where the charity works, like Ethiopia.
The hikes and treks are managed by our trusted partner, Charity Challenge. They handle all of the logistics, so you can concentrate on training and fundraising, supported by us. Call or email the team to kick-start your challenge.
